Vancouver Island

As a 21st century adult, its not often that you get to experience a whole new mode of transport. None of us had ever been on a float plane before, that takes off and lands in water. This one took us across to Nanaimo, Vancouver Island.
Zoe seemed more interested in the safety card than the view, but Nathan spotted Cypress Street, our new home, from up above.

It wasn't long before we were on our bikes again, this time Roger and Pam's, which we took over to Newcastle Island just across the water (we can see it from all 3 of our balconies!)

Newcastle Island is a national park, totally car free and full of interesting wildlife. We saw several raccoons, a snake, a toad and lots of these purple starfish on the rocks.
